I have lost myself in chocolate and Häagen-Dazs Cookie Dough Dynamo ice cream.
I have sat for an hour in front of the Rosetta Stone, entranced.
I have been enthralled by the artistic wealth at the Guggenheim, but it’s my boys’ bright paintings that adorn my walls.
I have directed and produced for TV and theatre. I have discovered a strange fierce liking for these creative adventures, where you wave a magic wand and make two-metre-high ghosts weep, and turn mine dumps into desert dunes.

A house that does not have one worn, comfy chair in it is soulless.

We built our house from scratch, Mr Y and I. Whilst searching for a new space we could call our own, we stumbled onto our property-to-be. It was a big plot of land that had been repossessed by the bank and subdivided. It was north-facing, on a slight hill, and surrounded by acacia and karee trees.
